Let's Talk

     It's been happening for many years now.  The constant divisiveness on social media. Facebook and Twitter seem to be the most popular platforms.  One person posts or tweets something that supports their view on a topic.  Someone else likes or retweets.  Another replies with a rousing validation. Then, someone comes along with an opposing view.  This is when things start to heat up!  Or, upon seeing such a post, you may just unfollow or unfriend (probably the best for your blood pressure).  Recently, I've been taking the latter option or I SMH, say WTF (in my head, of course) and move along, because yes, everyone does have the right to their opinion.  On some occasions, I research a point or argument that has been made to try and find where the truth actually lies (and I just realized the irony in that phrase).
     With all of that said, I do not believe I am closed minded and I think all of our different views are what make us great!  The problem is the delivery and (mis)interpretation through social media.  WE NEED TO HAVE THESE DIALOGUES FACE TO FACE!  Yes, I just yelled at you.  Who has the courage to take these issues off of their page, into a diverse group, and talk?  I don't mean superficial talk.  I mean genuine, I want to hear where you're coming from conversation!  Are you ready?  Keep smiling, keep shining :)
